I have had the good fortune to have used Superior Quality Renovations & Construction on 8 different projects in my home. These have included several major indoor works, including ripping off my entire 3^rd floor balcony roof/deck and rebuilding it from scratch as well as the room below (it leaked), refinishing my basement and installing a home entertainment centre, and a complete kitchen renovation right down to the studs. It was with great trepidation that I approached finding a contractor to undertake some renovations on my home. I knew nothing, and I mean nothing, about home repairs and was a complete neophyte. SQRC completed our basement renovation from start to finish, in February 2010, demonstrating high quality work throughout the project.  We were very impressed with the regular updates and level of communication provided to us during each stage of the work.  We always knew what was happening in our home and could see the progress towards the deadlines that Florin assigned.  The original timeline was strictly followed and our renovation was finished on time – this was very important as we were working with another due date, the arrival of our son.

Re: Florin Draghici & SQRC

We recently engaged Florin & his team to do a number of renovation projects at our Riverdale home. The jobs included adding frameless glass doors to our tub, re-creating a vaulted ceiling in our master bedroom to accommodate a ceiling to floor wardrobe, installation of a ceiling fan & repainting of the entire room. In addition, Florin and his team also built an interlocking stone parking pad for two cars and extended our back deck and moved the stairs attached to it.

The entire job was done on-time and on-budget and the work is flawless. We are extremely satisfied with the work and the way it was done.

Florin is a true professional. In our initial meeting he took the time to carefully consider the project and he explained clearly to us what needed to be done. He did not rush into a quote in that first meeting or make any promises that he could not follow through on. Instead, he spent a few days to put together a project plan and budget that was thorough and easy to understand. Florin clearly outlined when we could expect materials to arrive, when the work would be done and how it would be done. In addition, payment terms were clearly outlined and Florin’s principle of not accepting the final 50% of the payment until work is completed to the customer’s satisfaction gave us even more confidence and peace of mind.

Florin and his team completed all of the work while we were away on a two week vacation. To be honest, we would have been happy if 50% of the work got done while we were away. But when we returned it was 100% completed, as promised. The quality of the work is superb and we have received many compliments from friends and family. In addition, while it’s a small thing, the areas where Florin’s team worked in seemed cleaner than how we had left the house. That further demonstrates the care and professionalism Florin and his team bring to a project.

Florin Draghici, of Superior Quality Renovations and Construction Inc. (SQRC), was a pleasure to work with during our kitchen renovation. His attention to detail was exceptional. He truly cares about the outcome of the project, if something was not done to the client‘s or his standard it was redone to make it perfect. The workers from SQRC were always courteous, helpful and kept the site meticulously clean. The kitchen turned out exactly as we imagined it would.

We had some issues regarding a steel beam that needed to be installed. Things aren’t always what you expect when the walls and ceiling are finally opened up. Florin realized when the area was exposed that the original plans would not be satisfactory. He worked hand in hand with the structural engineer to determine the best and safest solution to the problem. Florin’s knowledge of building code is extensive and he knew everything that needed to be done beforehand so there were no challenges during the building or electrical inspections. Florin stood true to his original quote; if additional items were required it was discussed and approved before any work began.

We would absolutely recommend Florin to friends and family if they need a project handled professionally and without any worries. My introduction to Superior Quality Renovations and Construction Inc. was five years ago, upon visiting a new neighbour in our condo building.

I was extremely favourably impressed with the renovations performed by Florin for my neighbour (who has a similar unit as mine) and how highly she spoke of him and all his sub contractors.

At that time my two bathrooms were in desperate need of new fixtures and updating, but with summer approaching we planned to be away for two months. Initially we hesitated to take on the project in our absence but we met with Mr. Draghici and he assured us that our home would be in capable and responsible hands.

Upon our return the renovations were completed to our complete delight and satisfaction! Spotless also!

Rhonda and I truly enjoyed working with you on our bathroom project.

Our bathroom required a total gut with removal of the old lathe & plaster walls and ceiling. Most of the framing also needed reworking, as the walls were not square. All of the plumbing and electrical as well as the exhaust fan needed to be replaced. The floor also needed reinforcing and both toilet and bathtub drains needed to be repositioned. Upon removal of the old walls we discovered that the plumbing stack also required some modification.

During the course of the project you were able to keep the rest of our house remarkably clean and relatively free of dust. You were able to organize your workplace with minimal disruption to our living environment.

Your attention to detail and supervision of the trades that you subcontracted was commendable. There was never a problem getting in touch with you to discuss any concerns. You were able to complete the project relatively on time.

We have now had the privilege of completing 9 separate projects with Florin Draghici and Superior Quality Renovations and Construction. These ranged from correcting major basement leaks and seepage from the 3rd Floor balcony, and subsequently completely rebuilding it to doing a complete kitchen renovation to building a state of the art entertainment and family room.

I had a home theater project with the goals of replacing an old tube TV with a wall-hung plasma, moving a surround sound receiver and cable box out of site (inside a close by closet) and hiding the cables inside walls. The work required the electrical, carpentry and design services of SQRC. Given my requirements, Florin designed the solution and he and Dan executed it. The experience exceeded my every expectation. Beyond the obvious – work completed promptly and to specification – they spent the initial site time laying out the work before getting underway, at which point we met to review the plans (locations for outlets, cords, equipment and furniture). Seeing the ideas laid out in the space allowed us to discuss them in the context of the objectives and make decisions that made the finished product line up perfectly with my goals. Florin and Dan asked good questions and made excellent suggestions. This extra care to make sure the final design and construction fit the space and my needs was a valuable effort on the part of Florin/SQRC to make sure I would be happy with the outcome.

Florin and Dan treated the finished work the way I understand Steve Jobs treated his products – no corners are cut and the look, quality and workmanship of every element (even the ones that aren’t readily visible) is top tier. In April of 2012 we met with Florin Draghici of Superior Quality Renovations and Construction Inc. regarding a complete renovation of our main floor kitchen and bath.

We were very impressed with the precision used by Florin to calculate the dimensions of the project in order to provide a thorough and accurate estimate.
